Het merendeel van fotografie is vastleggen van een werkelijkheid. Dat kan zijn een portret, een onderwerp voor een industrieel of wetenschappelijk doel, of fotojournalistiek.

Ik probeer er wel steeds een persoonlijke draai aan te geven. Zonder de werkelijkheid te veranderen. Met mijn keuzes van onderwerpen en de aandacht daarvoor kan ik wel een bijdrage leveren aan de verandering die ik wil zien in de wereld.

De waarden die mijn gedrag beïnvloeden zijn: vriendelijkheid, de wereld iets beter maken, vrijheid, leren, redelijkheid, eerlijkheid, doorzetten, dankbaarheid en humor.

Momenteel werk ik aan een serie vrij werk met initiatieven van organisaties die zich inzetten voor verduurzaming. Deze is binnenkort zichtbaar in dit portfolio.

Verder help ik met de lancering op 21 juni van de Nederlandse versie van The Carbon Almanac. Dit is een boek over klimaatverandering gevuld met feiten, grafieken, tabellen, tekeningen, quotes, bronnen en acties geschreven door ruim 300 vrijwilligers uit meer dan 40 landen.

Daarnaast ben ik fotograaf voor o.a. fotopersbureau Getty Images.

Tijdens de afgelopen vijf jaar samenwerken met specialist circulaire kantoorinrichting Triboo, heb ik de wereld van circulariteit beter leren kennen.

Na voltooiing van mijn studie met als specialisatie milieurecht woonde ik tien jaar in Hong Kong. In dienst van persbureau AFP. Vervolgens heb ik in verschillende delen van Azie gewerkt als fotograaf.

Mijn vriendin en ik worden getolereerd door onze drie katten. We wonen op tien minuten fietsen van het Noordzeestrand. Als het waait windsurf ik; een grote passie en uitlaatklep.

Ik heb geen commerciele banden met de bedrijven waar ik naar verwijs bij sommige foto's en berichten. Deze website is puur informatief.

Most of photography is capturing a reality. That could be a portrait, a subject for an industrial or scientific purpose, or photojournalism.

I always try to give it a personal twist. Without changing reality. With my choices of subjects and the attention to them, I can contribute to the change I want to see in the world.

The values that influence my behavior are: kindness, making the world a little better, freedom, learning, reasonableness, honesty, perseverance, gratitude and humor.

I am currently working on a series of free work with initiatives from organizations that are committed to sustainability. This will soon be visible in this portfolio.

I also help with the launch on June 21 of the Dutch version of The Carbon Almanac. This is a book about climate change filled with facts, graphs, tables, drawings, quotes, sources and actions written by more than 300 volunteers from more than 40 countries.

I am also a photographer for, among others, photo press agency Getty Images.

During the past five years working together with the circular office design specialist Triboo, I got to know the world of circularity better.

After completing my studies specializing in environmental law, I lived in Hong Kong for ten years. Employed by the AFP news agency. I then worked as a photographer in different parts of Asia.

My girlfriend and I are tolerated by our three cats. We live ten minutes by bike from the North Sea beach. When the wind blows I windsurf; a great passion and outlet.
